Lisa - We hadn't been to the Seattle one in ten years, but we'd been to the Portland one. And yeah, I thought I'd read the prices and yet was still shocked at the bill. Definitely something I would only do once or maybe twice a year at most. But oh my gawd, so freaking delicious.

I'm with Sonja. Get the Coq au Vin instead of the oil and batter crap.
With the Coq au Vin, you don't get batter. You just cook the meats in the broth/soup naked. The veggies are great that way too. It's healthier, and I think it tastes a heck of a lot better. But then, I don't really care for deep-fried stuff in the first place, so YMMV.

They have many variations of chocolate fondue. I like the Baileys one myself. *grin*

Have you been there before? Kinda sounds like it. I think we've been there twice in Portland and I've been a handful of times in Seattle. It's not the caloric load. keeping us from going..you actually eat very small portions. It's the time and money. 2 hours usually, and if you get out the door for under $50/person you're doing better than we do. So not in the budget anymore.

I'll be that person who insists on having one pot that's gluten free. :) Between Llyra and I, we'll make sure dinner at the Melting Pot is challenging, yet fun.

I want to go, too!

But I will be saying "Get that strawberry away from my chocolate!" instead. (when people go to a fondue restaurant with me, they are required to spoon out chocolate and drizzle it on their strawberries, rather than dipping their strawberries. It's a shame, really.)

Broth! But then how do you get your batter crispy? Oh I'm sorry, you said HEALTHY. No wait, you said, "healthy". That's entirely different. :)

We'll have eight people total (6 adults and two kids). Maybe we'll get both. I want to go with you and Llyra and Jojo and our tribe, too, if we can find babysitters!

You can get broth type things for cooking your meat in instead of hot oil. Then it's "healthy". :)

Actually, best if you have a large enough crowd for more than one burner and then you can get oil on one and broth on the other.
